CONSULTATION MODE

Consultation Mode (CM) is the screen that you will use to record and view consultations with patients. It is essential that you use CM when CONSULTING, whether you are dealing with patients in the surgery, on the phone, or following a home visit. Uniquely, CM records a date, place and doctor each time it is opened for a patient.

Medical Record (MR), on the other hand, does not do this and is the function to use when dealing with a patient’s records outside of consultations.

When you open CM for the first time in any session you will be prompted to confirm the place of consultation, the date and your identity.

If these details are correct press return, and then normally choose ‘Y’ for Yes to select as the default location for this session.

The main Consultation Manager screen will then open.

• At the top of the screen you will see the patient details with DOB and telephone number if available (A, and B).
• Below that you will see details of the last few consultations if present (C ).

Note that each consultation is dated, with a location, and with an identified clinician.

• The main commands are at the bottom of the screen (D)
